From 1996 to 2007 I have served as Trustee and Guardian for a second cousin of mine, one Donald. V. Hawkins formerly of St.Paul, Minnesota. I moved Donald out to the California retirement community, of his choice, White Sands of La Jolla.
In an effort to give Donald a more homelike environment for his final years we decided to rent a house and move him out of the institutional nursing facility at White Sands of La Jolla into that privately owned home.
Arzu Onay was the primary caregiver who also arranged for the other caregivers who came is on a schedule. Arzu also provided the needed transportation for Donald with her handicap equipped van. Personal needs were very promptly attended to and meals were tailored to his needs and tastes. In short, for the final year of his long life we felt that he had the best possible home environment and that his medical needs were well taken care of, perhaps even better than in a hospital or nursing home situation.
We give Arzu Onay our unqualified recommendation as a provider of home healthcare for others. We base this upon our close observation of her work as she served our relative, Donald, with love and skill.
I am very satisfied with Arzu Onay’s loving and comforting care given these final years of Donald’s life. I have the highest regard for her as a person and also for her as a healthcare professional.
